i am sick. i stayed in bed the whole day. my most awesome roommate, bea kim, called sharon brauman for me since i had to miss chem 130 lab and wrote this to my physics TA:
Dear _________,
One of your students in Physics 22, Christina Ha, is my roommate. She is extremely sick and has been for the past 2 days. There is a lab due today at noon but despite many protests, I have forced her to sleep and am writing you in plea that you will be understanding. Is it possible for her to finish writing up the lab sometime tomorrow and dropping it off later without penalty? She has a quarter of it left to do but she is too sick to finish. Her sickness is compounded by her lack of sleep and poor eating schedule (of late). Christina is a responsible student and if it wasn't for me insisting she sleep instead of finishing her lab, I assure you it would be done, despite it possibly making her even sicker! But in hopes of her quick recovery, I ask for her extension. Thank you for your time in reading this letter.

hahaah..it makes me sound like some insane academic martyr or something. "must...finish lab...must go to class and infect hundreds of other students...must kill myself in lab..." no, i am not on my deathbed, but bea does make it sound rather dramatic, no? them poetry-writing english minors. hehe. seriously though, bea is the best roomie in the world. she brought me soup and lunch and dinner and orange juice today and made me sleep (although for dinner, she tried to make me drink orange juice that had been sitting in a cup for over 7 hours...). i lubba yooo!
had a really strange dream this afternoon too--must be my already odd subconscious compounded by sickness. it involved senior christina and real world auditions and a fat roommate and ballet lessons and an old woman in blue fleece and jarvis and a plie-ing grace. also, the fat roommate was doing ballet with one foot pointed in and one pointed out the entire time. someone analyze that sucker for me.
oh, and the o.j. is still sitting on my desk. =)
