"i never had the propensity to work, breed, and die." ~stroke 9, tail of the sun

true...but i'll probably end up doing that anyway. need to pass on my genes, assure them of survival...and death is guaranteed. there's more than just the above to life though, right? that's what we like to think, and i like to think there is: the love that comes from breeding, the sense of satisfaction and success that comes from work, a final peace that comes with death after you've accomplished all you have--the view and visitors along the way.

sorry, that line just sort of stuck in my head when i was listening to that song. i'm getting all cheesy and crap. bleh.

in other news, two mice bit my fingers today. once again, this further demonstrates the innate unfairness of life. i actually like and empathize with the mice while my cousin hates them with a vengeance and treats them roughly (spun one's head into the side of a cage today), but who gets bitten? me. i've only been working with them for less than two months while my cousin has been working with mice for over two years--i've been bitten three times, and he may have been bitten once. ugh. ungrateful rodents. i still think they can be cute though. must be that whole "small, furry things are always cute" mindset that a lot of people seem to suffer from.
