My mom came home tonight and said, "See, you shouldn't pick wild mushrooms! The newspaper said this family picked wild mushrooms from the Oakland hills and ate them and the old grandfather died!"

I didn't have the heart or energy to tell my mom that neither I nor anyone I personally know goes around picking and eating freshly-picked wild mushrooms. How random. I suppose she's worried for my...safety?
