it's 2002! feels just like 2001. =) new years eve wasn't really anything to whoop about this year for me. i had to work till 10:30 since i was stuck closing. bleh =P then i raced home since brandon was home alone for a bit, so i ended up watching him until around midnight. i attempted to take a super-quick shower and get to yeung's house before the countdown, but failed miserably. i ran to the car, discovered my cell wasn't in my purse, ran back into the house, couldn't find my cell, and finally realized i had left it in my car. yes, i am so intelligent. finally arrived at yeung's house around ten or fifteen minutes late. jo, jacq, and deb went to jennie's house, but i was just too lazy and really wanted to bum around and like...not talk to too many people. =) so yeung and i just played blackjack with his brother and a couple of their friends. i suck. i think i was 20 chips in the hole at the end, but ah well. oh, we watched a lot of tv too. dick clark is a cyborg. pink's hair is no longer pink. jay leno is annoying. i love conan.
new year's day i woke up late. did some stuff for my mom, finally was able to sign onto axess to check my grades...not too bad for such a busy quarter...must've been the fact that i only took 14 units =P i'm almost at my goal GPA...must do well this quarter. ooh, looked up my last class too...can only afford 3 more units...4 if i petition. we'll see. most of the ones that get rid of a GER and sound interesting are four units though...hm. there's "asian/pacific american religioius traditions", "twentieth century american fictions" in the feminist studies department, "chinese poetry in translation", and "gender and power in ancient rome." they sound interesting =) think i can handle 20/21 units though? O_o i'm getting ambitious here. anyway, i met up with stan at tapioca express for some pearl milk tea while i stole his chicken before work =D i don't think i was very good company because i was in a rush and still groggy or not really aware yet. sorry, stan. ooh, good news about work today was that i was let off early...yay! went home, spent some quality play-time with my little bro, then was about to leave for deb's house when michelle called. we had a nice chat about "like-whoa" and drug dealers and stanford goggles and lives and asexuality and random stuff. be careful, girl =P then deb, cher, jo, di, and i went to mercado...got some good ol' ben & jerry's (chunky monkey! bestill my heart!) and then watched "kate & leopold." it was rather sappy and pretty cute (and you gotta love hugh jackman and breckin meyer), but i think my current asexual mode didn't let me enjoy it to the fullest. i think i dwell too much on inconsistencies of plot even though i know logic and consistency are not the main characteristics you should or need to look for in romantic comedies. it was a fun time with the girls and hugh jackman's accent made it all worth it ;-)
