break's been nice and laidback so far--chilled with some cool people i haven't seen in quite a while. don't worry, i'm not going to tell you every little thing i've done because i honestly don't think you'd care. =) although i am almost at my pearl milk tea quota for the week. yum.

i went clubbing with my sister and her friends tonight--now that was interesting. i think i scare people once i tell them i go to stanford. *shrug* oh well. not going to lie and say i go to a community college or anything. dancing was fun and i saw claudia and her sister there =) also discovered that i find masculine-looking guys with very asian eyes to be very attractive, a la rick yune. mmm.

dumdeedum *drumming fingers* waiting for amanda to finish with the shower so i can wash off the club stickiness. bleh. clubbing is not really my thing, but i suppose it's fun once in every long while. i'm just going to be rambling while i wait. you should read enchantment by orson scott card. don't let the pretty fairytale-like cover fool you--it's not your average fantasy novel. card was the one who wrote ender's game anyway (oh, you must read that too if you haven't already). i cracked up when i read the following excerpt from enchantment after ivan runs into a tree branch:

This is what Mother warned me about. I'll get a concussion, I'll fall down in convulsions, and my body won't be found until a dog drags some part of me onto somebody's farm. Probably the circumcised part of me, and they'll have to call in a mohel to identify it. Definitely the boy Itzak Shlomo--on your records as Ivan Petrovich Smetski. A good runner, but apparently not bright enough to look out for trees. Sorry, but he was too stupid to go on living. That's just the way natural selection works. And Father would shake his head and say, He should have been in Israel, where there are no trees.

hehehe...enchantment is about fairytales (baba yaga, sleeping beauty, etc) and judaism and christianity and gods and russia and america and the ninth century and the twentieth century and love and hate and magic and science and good and evil and humanity. i liked.

yay, amanda's done with the shower! i will spare you further inanities.

i love reading books that leave you feeling when you're done--whether it's some sappy novel that leaves a fuzzy warm feeling or an epic that leaves you in awe. just finished the silmarillion by tolkein...wow. the complexity of tolkein's world is incredible. the trilogy was amazing too, but silmarillion made me realize the great depth and color of tolkein's vision. it's interesting to think of the mortality of man as a gift. once again, i'm a dork. shush.

finally finished love on a diet starring sammi cheng and andy lau. funny stuff. and i now admit that i was wrong--andy lau is cute. he looks like his normal self for only a couple minutes in the movie, but what a great couple of minutes they are. ;-) they say daniel wu is the younger andy lau, yum.

i really don't want to do anything over break. i want to lie in bed and not be woken up by a phonecall from my mom every 20 minutes in the morning. she really needs to learn how to get everything out in one call. too bad i have a crapload of junk to do. i haven't really done any of it yet either =)

spring break is pleasant anesthesia for the brain.

ow. pain. but fun pain? i went snowboarding at boreal today with the girls (chrissanmarchidebcherjo)--whee! i missed them. =) it's comforting to know that some things will never change. i marvel at how odd we all are together--but that's why i love them. some girls complain about spending too much time with other girls because they get too petty or too prissy or too superficial; i never feel that way about my girls because none of us are very girly-girl at all. it's so freaking cool! haha...and boarding was so fun with them since we're all at different levels of suckiness (hey, it was the first or second time boarding for the majority). well, except for jo who can leave us all in the powder. we improved together, even though all i can boast about is being an expert falling leaf now. and yay for cher since it was her first time ever in snow! she made it all the way down without falling. =) thanks to deb, jo, and chris for driving. they rule!

plus there was some true pigging out at dinner--mar, chris, cher, and i all split a bucket of chicken meal from KFC. sweet! i love eating junky food like that with them and not having to feel like a freak around health nuts! we also bought this 99-cent half-gallon "mini jug" of soda with the meal and, being supremely asian, after finishing maybe a quarter of it at KFC, we went to refill it before heading back to jo's place (where chi helped us finish it). =D yeah, we're ghetto like that. and pigs. mar: "*burp* yay! more room!" i still ate more than her. ;-) in any case, it's five hours later and i'm full yet. thank heaven for elastic-waist pj pants.

oh, cher and mar need to get hearing aids. rubies do not equal boobies. and i said "sullen" not "solid"! the other christina knows.

it's difficult to find people who make me laugh as much as these girls. =)

HAPPY (slightly belated) BIRTHDAY, DI! didi is one of the coolest girls i have ever known. no matter how long we go without seeing each other, everything is always so comfortable and interesting with her. di-spazzing is just so cute! i miss it. hehe. plus she's doing awesome things at duke...and i miss her mothering. and the one-sleeve-pushed-up thing ;-)

ooh, i picked up mar's birthday card for me from the post office before i came home...i forgot how funny and spazzy mar is too. haha. that one little card cracked me up like nothing else. i'll "catch ya" =)

so the wedding reception was pretty much exactly what i expected. except it started freaking three hours late! now even that's ridiculous for asian time. and i have decided that there is NO WAY IN HELL i am going to have a band at my wedding banquet--especially tonight's "3M band." but hey, no drunken asian karaoke! just the groom's drunken older brother singing "la bamba." *shudder*
